From the earliest days, Bethel has had a dual mission: To engage our local community and to function as a training ground for individuals wrestling with a call to ministry. Each of these missional endeavors attempts help us live out these historic commitments of the people of Bethel.
The Birch House: The Birch House is an intentional community of the church where several young adults exploring calls to ministry live together. The Birch House helps orient the people of Bethel toward prayer and community action/involvement. Meet the members of the Birch House by clicking here on our meet the staff page.
The Food Pantry: As part of our weekly tithes and offerings food items are brought to support a local food pantry (located at the Germantown Neighborhood Center). Non-perishable food items like peanut butter, canned goods, and cereals are especially important. Donations can be placed in the food pantry box located in front of the Eucharistic Table. The location of the box matters a lot! We believe God’s Table extends into the world and invites all who are hungry and thirsty to come to God. We are committed to inviting others to God’s Table. Often this is through a warm meal.
Nazarene Global Mission: The church of the Nazarene as a denomination takes seriously the call to go into the world and make disciples. For more information about what the church of the Nazarene is currently doing around the world and how you can participate please visit our denomination’s global mission page, http://globalmission.nazarene.org
